The Ultimate Drink Package, which includes the aforementioned drinks, also includes all spirits and cocktails up to $15.00. Unlike other lines, these packages do not include bottled water or specialty coffee, so no matter what package you purchase those will be a la carte. Depending on your alcohol consumption, one of these plans may not only save you money, but will give you some piece of mind that your drinks are covered so there is no bar bill shock at the end of your trip. Note, you can only make reservations for dinner and shows 90 days prior to your sailing. The other options, such as dining plans and shore excursions, were open for us as soon as we made our reservation about six months ahead of our cruise.
Whichever you choose, there are plenty of options so book early to secure your spot. You can make reservations at 10 venues, including the complimentary Manhattan Room, new eats like Bayamo, and the line’s favorites including La Cucina and Cagney’s Steakhouse, which both offer Waterfront seating. These Mini-Suites include two lower beds that convert to a queen. And because they are aft-facing, the view from your large private balcony is amazing.

A hydrotherapy pool is in the spa, but you have to be signed up for a spa pass to access it. When you’re not enjoying a treatment, you can take advantage of the spa’s various relaxation spots. Thermal suite access allows you to enjoy a thalassotherapy pool, heated lounge chairs and a hot tub. Plus, there are floor-to-ceiling windows for great views of the water while you kick back and relax.
These staterooms offer incredible views from the balcony, two lower beds that convert to a queen-size bed and additional bedding to sleep one or two more. They offer large couches and a bar/desk area, along with large glass doors along one wall that lead out to your furnished, private balcony. Additionally, the bed is situated parallel to the glass doors, so you’ll finally get that ocean view from the bed. Most of the venues found on this deck offer outdoor seating on the Waterfront. This area was a great place to dine al fresco, enjoy an evening cocktail, and just relax. If you choose to dine at some of the specialty restaurants here, we suggest you give the waterfront dining a go if they have availability.

Now, the next dry dock, which should include broader changes, as it coincides with the ship’s tenth year, is slated for 2025. Since Norwegian Escape is still pretty new, it hasn’t received much in the way of refurbishments just yet. In 2022, the ship ran aground in the Caribbean and had to go into dry dock for repairs shortly after, and then, later that year, the ship was dry docked again in France, in September. The Norwegian Escape has three main complimentary dining rooms - Manhattan Room, Taste, and Savor. While Escape preaches a "freestyle" cruise experience, reservations are highly recommended and help reduce wait times, though expect lines to be part of the Norwegian Escape experience no matter what. At full capacity, the ship can hold 5,218 passengers, most of whom are from the United States.
A pass can be purchased to use the Thermal Suite for the entire week or a day pass on select port days. The cruise line was nice enough to give us a guided tour. Several different spa experiences are available including steam baths, therapy pools, both a sauna and sanarium, a salt bath, and the snow cave- kept at 17 degrees Fahrenheit with actual snow. All cabins (except studios) have two lower beds that can be converted to a queen-sized bed and are outfitted with a safe, hair dryer, desk with a small stool, three power sockets above the desk and a large flat-screen TV. Each room also has a wardrobe and bedside cabinets, with plenty of shelving to help reduce clutter. All cabins, other than studios, include mini-bars, as well.
